Ridley Tiger Basketball

Our basketball programme is built on the key elements of the Canada Basketball Long Term Athlete Development Model, which provides a systematic and consistent approach to the development of athletes. With this model, Ridley Basketball enables age and stage appropriate skills development and meaningful competition from the “FUNdamental” foundation to the “Train to Compete” and “Learn to Win” stages of the development process.

Our Prep and 1st Boys Basketball Teams


The Ridley Prep Boys basketball team is our premier boys team. This team plays in the top Prep basketball  league in Canada and annually attends showcase events internationaly, from September to March:

The Ridley First Boys basketball team is our top Conference of Independent Schools Athletic Association (CISAA) team. They compete in the senior division of the CISAA and annually attend the CAIS National Tournament, the St. Cathareins Standard Tournament and host the Carl Dorland Classic.
Preparation for this level of competition includes daily court sessions and a diverse off-court regimen, which includes strength training and active recovery. Training and competition are supported by an experienced coaching staff, Ridley’s athletic therapy and school medical team, a strength and conditioning coach, and other professional instructors.
 

First Girls Basketball

Ridley’s premier girls team is the First Girls basketball team, which competes in the:

The training programme for this level of competition includes four on-court practices, as well as off-court sessions that include strength training and active recovery. Training and competition are supported by an experienced coaching staff, Ridley’s athletic therapy and school medical team, a strength and conditioning coach, and other professional instructors.

When they are away from the gym, players are educated by Ridley’s dedicated professional faculty and supported by academic advisors, tutors, and a residential life staff.
