Prep Boys Hockey Make More History Claiming the MPHL Regular Season Title for the First Time

As the quality of Prep hockey continues to impress and gain the attention of college and junior scouts alike, the Midwest Prep Hockey League may have just completed its most competitive regular season to date. The nine teams from Chicago, Illinois to Burlington, Vermont and all Canadian and American provinces and states in between played their final regular season games in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Sherbrooke, Quebec this past weekend and the Tigers clawed their way to the top of the table with a three win one loss weekend to finish the regular season with a 12 win, two loss, two overtime loss record and 26 points. That record was a statistical tie with rival Lake Forest Academy from Chicago, but the 5-3 win by Ridley in the final game of the weekend clinched the tie break and the number one playoff seed for the Tigers.

The parity in the league cannot be understated however as lower ranked teams have defeated higher ranked team as recently as this past weekend’s matches. That means the MPHL Championships in Buffalo February 15th to 17th will be a wild ride to the finish!
