Horace Wong '19 Sets a Record and our Senior Boys Swim Team Finishes Second in The Province at OFSAA!

An incredible two days of performances at OFSAA Swimming in Toronto has seen our Senior Boys team finish second in the 315-school provincial event and bring home loads of medals and fantastic memories!

Just a week after winning 12 medals at the CISAA Championships, a team of five Tigers (Natalya Guillaume, Joshua Maloney, Horace Wong, Alex Bento and Luke Kelshall) traveled to Toronto for the Provincial Championships in the PANAM Pool.
The Tigers did not take long to make a splash. Senior Horace Wong swam his best ever 50m free in the final posting a 23.45 time breaking a 13-year-old OFSAA record for Gold! Later that afternoon, Horace was back in the water with Alex, Josh and Luke and the boys swam to a Medley Relay Silver demonstrating the incredible gains they have made in the last year having finished 17th in 2018 in the same event. On the Girls side, Natalya Guillaume represented the junior women and competing for the first time at OFSAA, swam her way to two personal bests.
Not knowing how day two could be any better, Alex Bento swam his fastest race of the event and grabbed the Silver in the 100m freestyle before the boys joined forces again in the 200m freestyle relay and left no doubt blazing to another Ridley College Gold!
Those combined results placed the Senior Boys team second overall in all of Ontario!
These accomplishments are no doubt shared by the entire team who have worked tirelessly together under the expert tutelage of Head Coach Annie Jones and Assistant Lindsey Jakuszyk in the friendly confines of the Staples Pool in the Iggy.
Thank you for representing us so well Tigers!
