Tigers Earn Comeback Win on the Road

The culmination of a busy week-and-a-half of basketball saw the Prep Basketball Tigers earn a comeback win on the road and drop their first match of the season at home.
Tuesday, the Tigers traveled to the Athlete Institute to take on team Red. Down at half, the Tigers rallied for a 75-65 win on the backs of a near double-double performance by Peter Moses (18 points, 9 boards), and a shooting spectacle by Cormac McMahon, who hit four threes and scored 24 points in the victory.
Thursday, the boys hosted Lincoln Prep from Hamilton in what proved to be an absolute slug fest. The Tigers struggled to find their rhythm offensively and a late push by the Huskies saw them steal a 79-73 final.
Saturday, members of all four of Ridley’s Boys basketball teams traveled to the Toronto PanAm Centre at the University of Toronto, Scarborough to take part in our first OSBA Junior Challenge event. It was a great opportunity for the young Tigers to showcase their talents and they went toe-to-toe with the Athlete Institute Juniors (after having only one hour of practice time together), losing 59-52. Topaz Nnani led the scoring with 21 points.
The team now gets a few extra days of practice as they prepare to travel to Rhode Island on Thursday for the Zero Gravity Prep Classic Invitational in Barrington.
