First Boys Hockey took the ice for their season opener verse De La Salle in Toronto and emerged with an 8-7 victory.

The Tigers led by one following the second period and then fell behind in the third until Dylan Graff tied the game at 7-7. With just under two minutes to play, captain Owen Leach made a dazzling end-to-end rush that was capped off by a blocker side snipe to put Ridley in the lead.

Stellar goaltending by Sammy Rootes in the final minute allowed the Tigers to hold on and move to 1-0 on the season.
Leach and Sammy Rodriguez each had three goals while Graff and Lucas Wiley also scored.
