1st Swim Team Race To 16 Podiums and Qualify 8 For OFSAA!

Last week our Sr. Co-Ed First Swimming team travelled to Markham Pan Am Centre to compete in the CISAA Championship competition where the Tigers racked up the race points and put up a wave of tremendous results.
Coaches measure success in various ways- team and individual results, as well as personal improvements or goals reached. This competition as a whole was a great success across the board. Coach Jones, Jakuszyk and the entire Ridley community are extremely proud of how all of our swimmers performed, posting 100% personal best times; that’s amazing and reflective of some serious hard work in the pool. Some other highlights include the following:
  • Claiming gold in the Sr. Men’s 200 Fr relay after a hard fought race to the finish with UCC.
  • Racing to a silver medal in the Sr. Men’s 200 IM relay, qualifying for OFSAA in the process.
  • 7 Gold, 6 Silver, and 3 Bronze medals and many top 6 finishes!
  • 8 OFSAA qualifiers, and a few narrow misses.
The Championship competition was an awesome way to finish our season- we look forward to the week ahead as we tackle OFSAA and to what the 2018-19 season has in store.
