Bediako and the Prep Basketball Tigers Breakdown Vaughan to Move to 3-0
It was a typical OSBA back and forth on Tuesday night in the Griffith Gym as visiting Vaughan refused to go away forcing the Ridley Tigers to dig deep for a solid 90-83 victory to push the Tigers record to an undefeated 3-0 to start the season.
Lead by centre Jaden Bediako’s ’19 third consecutive double-double, the Tigers twice pushed their lead to more than 15 points in front of another great Ridley crowd only to have Vaughan scrap their way back into contention.
The difference came from to the guard play of trio Alex Root ’20, Noah Wharton ’19 and Kennan Larmand ’20. Root shot the lights out hitting for 77% of all shots taken and scoring 17 points adding three assists and four rebounds. Wharton added 12 points slashing and distributing the ball all over the court while rookie Larmand added quality calming minutes and hit for 11 points.
The Tigers are now on route to the Caribbean Classic in Nassau Bahamas before they return to Ridley to host their final home game of this initial OSBA phase against visiting Athlete Institute Red.
